Grants & Funding

Grants are currently available for energy-saving measures such as Loft, Cavity, Internal and External wall insulation, Underfloor Insulation, Boiler upgrades and First Time Central Heating (FTCH)* through the government ECO Scheme.

The ECO4 Scheme is the Energy Company’s Obligation and is basically a tax on the profit of the utilities that has to be spent on energy efficiency.

There are two funding streams for owner occupiers and private rentals:

Firstly, for those in receipt of a qualifying benefit such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, ESA, Income Support, IBJSA, Child or Working Tax Credit then direct access is available through the HHCRO route.

For those outside the benefit system then access is still possible through the Local Authority Flex scheme.  To qualify under LA Flex you need to have a household income of less than £31,000 PA. The new ECO4 scheme is based on a whole house approach and will fund all energy efficiency measures that are practical and will aim to improve your EPC rating to a minimum D with an ideal target of C. Your current EPC needs to be in the E,F or G band and this is available for homeowners or private tenants.

Wherever possible, we will try to obtain funding for your intended improvements!

New government grants of £5000 have now been made available towards the cost of an Air Source Heat Pump. These are available to anyone, irrespective of age or income.

Whether an EPC or Retrofit Survey, advice on potential energy efficient improvements will always be given for FREE

*for Boiler upgrades the boiler must be a none condensing standard or combination boiler. For FTCH gas must be at the building already.
